About
The Last Hand (also listed as Last Hand) is a comedy-drama directed by Nate Dushku about legendary bridge player Lilith Fudent who leads a team of misfits to the world bridge championships to save her sister's New Orleans bridge club. The film features an ensemble cast led by Beverly D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Vacation) as Lilith Fudent, Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner) as Candy Leatherleigh, Mark Moses (Mad Men) as Johb Bones, and Mimi Kennedy (Mom) as Rudy Fudent. The supporting cast includes Susan Pourfar (The Humans) as Serena Mancuso, Carlease Burke as Shauney Billits, Laith Nakli as Sharif, Celeste Oliva as Yvonne Thibodeau, Geraldine Singer as Mrs. Bernstein, Michael Emery as Svengar Hops, and Summer Selby as Linda Grimey. The screenplay was written by Amnon Lourie and Jeffrey Cutaiar, with Lourie and Dushku producing under Murgen Croaker Productions and Crissy Brookshire serving as executive producer. Filming took place in New Orleans, a city whose French Quarter jazz clubs, Garden District mansions, and vibrant social scene provide a colorful backdrop for a story about competitive bridge -- a card game with a passionate subculture and world championship circuit. Nate Dushku, brother of actress Eliza Dushku, brings an indie sensibility to a story that blends the eccentricities of competitive card play with themes of family loyalty and underdog redemption. The film is scheduled for 2026 release.
