About

Delco: The Movie is a labor of love from local filmmaker Chris Pierdomenico, a coming-of-age dramedy set in 2004 that celebrates the culture, humor, and identity of Delaware County, Pennsylvania -- known locally and lovingly as "Delco." Pierdomenico, who grew up in Aston and now teaches film and journalism at Oxford High School, originally wrote the script as a school project at Sun Valley High School before revising it into a full independent feature. The film follows three teenage friends from Delaware County who get into trouble over the course of a wild day, capturing the specific rhythms and landmarks of suburban Philadelphia life. Filming took place across recognizable Delco locations: Tom Jones Restaurant, Wawa, the Brookhaven police station, Delco Original Trading Company, Ro Lynn Deli, Marty Magee's Irish Pub, Brad Fab Welding, Springfield Presbyterian Church, Media Theater, and Sun Valley High School itself. The cast blends local talent (Steve Harding, Jenna Kuerzi, Jeff Pfeiffer) with recognizable names including Brian O'Halloran (Clerks), Brian Anthony Wilson (The Wire), Brian Dunkleman (American Idol), and Leah Cevoli (Robot Chicken). After a red-carpet premiere at the Media Theatre on January 17, 2025, that drew hundreds of attendees, the film continued its grassroots screening tour with a showing at Kevin Smith's own Smodcastle theater and film festival on August 9, 2025. For Philadelphia-area location-spotters, Delco: The Movie is a rare celebration of suburban Delaware County on screen, giving Delco natives a film that speaks directly to their experience.
