About
The Fifth Wheel is an ensemble comedy directed by Eva Longoria and written by Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live, A.P. Bio) and Janine Brito. Kim Kardashian stars alongside Nikki Glaser, Fortune Feimster, and Brenda Song as a group of high school best friends who attempt to reconnect during a weekend trip to Las Vegas. When a hot outsider (Kardashian) crashes the weekend, they're forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions, and unraveling friendships. Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, and Scott MacArthur round out the cast. Netflix acquired the project in a competitive pre-Thanksgiving auction in 2023, signaling strong studio confidence in the comedy package. The producers include Kardashian, Pell, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions (Ferrell and Elbaum's company behind Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar), along with Cris Abrego and Longoria's Hyphenate Media Group. Production kicked off in January 2026 in Los Angeles, with Longoria -- who has directed episodes of Jane the Virgin, Black-ish, and The Gordita Chronicles -- helming her first major studio comedy feature. The film joins Netflix's growing slate of star-driven comedies aimed at theatrical-level talent in a streaming-first model.
