Sheriff Country

Sheriff Country is an American police procedural drama series created by Joan Rater, Tony Phelan, and Max Thieriot, serving as the first spinoff of the hit CBS series Fire Country. Morena Baccarin stars as Mickey Fox, a straight-shooting sheriff in the small rural California town of Edgewater and stepsister of Cal Fire's division chief Sharon Leone. The series premiered on CBS on October 17, 2025, after receiving a straight-to-series order in May 2024 based on a backdoor pilot episode in Fire Country season two titled "Alert the Sheriff." The cast includes Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone, W. Earl Brown as Wes Fox, Michele Weaver as Cassidy Campbell, Christopher Gorham as Travis Fraley, Amanda Arcuri as Skye Fraley, and Caroline Rhea as Gina. The show delves into Mickey's balancing of law enforcement demands with the complexities of motherhood, community politics, and a past that refuses to stay buried. Production films in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area so that Baccarin could be closer to her family in New York. Filming for Season 1 ran from May 14, 2025, through January 30, 2026, with specific locations including Milton's Knox Presbyterian Church, Hamilton City Hall, Dundurn Castle, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, and the towns of Oakville, Brampton, Whitchurch-Stouffville, and Mississauga all standing in for the fictional California setting. CBS renewed the series for a second season after only six episodes had aired.
