The Cleaning Lady

The Cleaning Lady is a crime drama series starring Elodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon who came to the United States on a medical visa to find treatment for her ailing son Luca. When the visa expires and conventional avenues close, Thony becomes entangled in the criminal underworld while working as a cleaning lady, using her intelligence and medical expertise to navigate increasingly dangerous situations. The series aired on Fox for four seasons, with the fourth and final season premiering on March 25, 2025, and concluding on June 3, 2025, before the show was canceled. All four seasons were filmed in and around Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, which doubles as the Las Vegas setting of the show. New Mexico's distinctive landscapes and architecture lend a movie-like quality to the production. Season 4 production employed over 2,500 New Mexicans, including 256 crew members, 6 principal actors, and approximately 2,384 background talent, making it one of the larger productions operating in the state. The series was developed by Miranda Kwok and based on the Argentine television series La chica que limpia.
