About
Doc is an American medical drama developed by Barbie Kligman that premiered on Fox on January 7, 2025. Based on the Italian series Doc -- Nelle tue mani, which was itself inspired by the true story of Dr. Pierdante Piccioni, a former emergency room chief who forgot the previous 12 years of his life following a 2013 car accident. Molly Parker stars as Dr. Amy Larsen, the chief of internal medicine at Minneapolis's fictional Westside Hospital, who suffers a traumatic brain injury in a car accident that causes her to lose her memory of the last eight years. The 10-episode first season follows Amy as she struggles to resume her medical career while confronting a life she cannot remember -- including a divorce from her husband and a tragedy that pushed others away. Omar Metwally co-stars as the Chief Medical Officer and Amy's ex-husband, with Jon-Michael Ecker as a chief resident and Amy's boyfriend. The cast includes Anya Banerjee, Amirah Vann, Patrick Walker, and Scott Wolf. Production for Season 1 started in March 2024 in Toronto, Mississauga, and Oakville, Ontario, with a university building exterior standing in for Westside Hospital. Fox renewed the series for a 22-episode second season on February 26, 2025. Season 2 filming began on June 6, 2025, with soundstages in Oakville, and is scheduled to run through April 3, 2026.
