About
Fox is rebooting the iconic Baywatch franchise as a new TV series, with Stephen Amell (Arrow) starring as Hobie Buchannon, the grown-up son of David Hasselhoff's legendary lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. Original cast member David Chokachi returns as Cody Madison, now running The Shoreline, the unofficial Baywatch bar-and-grill. Production is set to begin in March 2026, filming at the Fox Studio Lot in Century City, Venice Beach, the historic Venice Lifeguard Operations Station, and Will Rogers State Beach on Santa Monica Bay -- the primary filming site of the original 1989-2001 series. Matt Nix serves as showrunner, with Fremantle and Fox Entertainment producing. The series held open casting calls on LA beaches in February 2026. Fans can visit Will Rogers State Beach and the Venice boardwalk to experience the real-life Baywatch setting.
