Dark Winds is AMC's acclaimed neo-Western thriller set on the Navajo Nation reservation in the 1970s, based on Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn & Chee mystery novels. Season 3, which premiered March 9, 2025, was filmed at Camel Rock Studios, a Native American-owned facility near Tesuque Pueblo north of Santa Fe, along with locations in Santa Fe, Espanola, and the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad running between Chama, NM and Antonito, CO. Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon star as Tribal Police officers navigating crime and culture. The series is executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Robert Redford. Location scouts can visit the spectacular landscapes around Santa Fe and the Tesuque area that double for the show's Navajo Nation setting.
