Brothers

Brothers is an upcoming comedy series for Apple TV+ starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves. Created by David West Read (Schitt's Creek), the show plays off the long-running public joke that McConaughey and Harrelson might actually be half-brothers. In the series, after discovering a possible shared parent, the two decide to live together with their families at McConaughey's Texas ranch, testing their legendary friendship in close quarters. The ensemble cast includes Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Oona Yaffe, Highdee Kuan, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, and Noah Carganilla as the duo's various family members. The series is produced by Skydance Television. Filming began in November 2024 in Austin, Texas, with scenes shot around iconic areas including Congress Avenue and the Paramount Theatre. The city of Austin approved a $150,000 filming incentive to attract the production. The crew completed eight of the planned ten episodes before production was suspended in June 2025 after showrunner David West Read departed due to creative differences over the show's direction. Lee Eisenberg (The Office, Hello Tomorrow!) entered negotiations to step in as the new showrunner, and filming is expected to resume to complete the remaining two episodes.
