About
The Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren chronicles the Dutton family during Prohibition and the Great Depression. Season 2, which aired February-April 2025, filmed primarily in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas, bringing more than $50 million into the state capital. Production began in May 2024 in Austin, with additional shooting in the small town of Bartlett (50 miles north), Lockhart, and San Antonio before wrapping in late September 2024. The production then moved to Montana for October-November shoots in Butte, Anaconda (used for Indian boarding school exteriors at the Anaconda Rifle and Pistol Club), and Whitehall, where sweeping Highland Mountain landscapes were captured. The series blends Taylor Sheridan's signature Western storytelling with intimate period drama across some of America's most stunning terrain.
