Star Trek: Starfleet Academy brings the Trek universe to a new generation, following a group of cadets at the Federation's premier training institution. The series premiered January 15, 2026 on Paramount+, starring Holly Hunter as Captain and Chancellor of the Academy. Season 1 filmed from August 2024 through February 2025 at Pinewood Toronto Studios, where the production built a massive two-storey Academy set on a 45,000 square foot soundstage, complete with trees, classrooms, a mess hall, amphitheater, and a view of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Location filming took place in Waterloo, Ontario's Uptown area under the working title 'Ivory Tower.' Season 2 began production at the same Toronto facility in August 2025. The show received an early Season 2 renewal during its first season run, signaling strong confidence from Paramount+.
