Task is an HBO crime drama created by Brad Ingelsby, the acclaimed writer behind Mare of Easttown, who returns to the working-class Philadelphia suburbs for another gritty, character-driven story. Mark Ruffalo stars as FBI agent Tom Brandis, who heads a task force investigating a string of violent robberies targeting biker gang stash houses across Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery counties. The series premiered on HBO on September 7, 2025. Filming for Season 1 was centered in and around Philadelphia, stretching deep into the surrounding suburbs.
