About
Scary Movie 6 brings back the horror parody franchise after a 13-year hiatus since Scary Movie 5 in 2013. The Wayans brothers -- Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory -- reunite as screenwriters and producers for the first time in 17 years, marking their return to the franchise they created in 2000. Michael Tiddes directs, continuing his collaboration with Marlon Wayans from A Haunted House and Sextuplets, with Rick Alvarez co-writing. Marlon Wayans reprises his role as Shorty, and Anna Faris and Regina Hall return as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks respectively, reuniting the original trilogy's core trio. The film is expected to parody recent horror hits including Get Out, Nope, Longlegs, Heretic, Sinners, and the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer franchises. Principal photography ran from October 1 to November 24, 2025 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, the 330-acre former Fort McPherson army base. Marlon Wayans has publicly warned the film may offend some people, leaning into the franchise's tradition of boundary-pushing comedy. Paramount Pictures will distribute Scary Movie 6 under its first-look deal with Miramax, with a US theatrical release date set for June 12, 2026. The first five Scary Movie films grossed over $900 million worldwide, making this one of the most commercially anticipated comedies of 2026.
