Deliver Me From Nowhere

Deliver Me From Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen's raw, stripped-down 1982 album "Nebraska," a watershed moment in rock history when the biggest arena-rock star in America recorded a haunting solo acoustic album on a four-track cassette recorder in his New Jersey bedroom. Jeremy Allen White delivers a transformative performance as the young Springsteen wrestling with the ghosts of his blue-collar upbringing and the pressures of superstardom, while Jeremy Strong plays manager Jon Landau, who famously declared he had "seen the future of rock and roll." Director Scott Cooper insisted on filming entirely in New Jersey at Springsteen's own request, spending 31 days and $41.8 million across 16 Garden State towns including Asbury Park, Freehold, Bayonne, Jersey City, Montclair, Newark, East Rutherford, and Rahway. Asbury Park locations included the legendary Stone Pony, Convention Hall, and Frank's Deli on Main Street. In Freehold, Springsteen's actual hometown, scenes were shot in the downtown district with both the real Springsteen and White present on the final day of filming, January 11, 2025. The Montclair Library's Bellevue Avenue branch and Bayonne's John's Midtown Tavern also served as key locations, with a nearby parking lot transformed into a 1980s used car dealership. The production employed 500 crew members with an average daily spend of $1.3 million, including $2.2 million on wardrobe and $1.7 million on extras to recreate early-1980s New Jersey. Paul Walter Hauser co-stars as guitar tech Mike Batlan, Stephen Graham as Springsteen's father Doug, and Odessa Young as love interest Faye. The film premiered at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival on August 29, 2025, and was released theatrically by 20th Century Studios on October 24, 2025.
