About

The Rescue is a modern-day Western thriller from Paramount starring Brandon Sklenar and Hassie Harrison, directed by Potsy Ponciroli (Old Henry, Greedy People) from a screenplay by John Fusco. The film follows a rodeo cowboy whose arena skills are put to the ultimate test when he and his dog set out to find his missing daughter. Harrison plays Kaley Tucker, a country singer who becomes entangled in the search. The project reunites two stars from Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone television universe -- Sklenar starred as Spencer Dutton in the prequel series 1923, while Harrison played Laramie in Yellowstone proper. Sklenar has rapidly ascended to leading-man status following breakout roles in 1923 and the hit adaptation It Ends with Us. The Rescue represents one of Paramount's first major projects greenlit after the Skydance merger. Principal photography is taking place between February 9 and March 28, 2026, in the metro Atlanta area under the working title "Smoky." Filming locations include Duluth's Gas South Arena, which was used for concert scenes during a Rascal Flatts performance sequence. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on January 29, 2027.
