The Hunting Party

The Hunting Party is an NBC procedural crime drama created by JJ Bailey, following a small investigative team assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers who have escaped from a top-secret prison that is not supposed to exist. The series premiered on January 19, 2025, and stars Melissa Roxburgh as Rebecca Henderson, Patrick Sabongui as Jacob Hassani, Josh McKenzie as Shane Florence, and Sara Garcia as Jennifer Morales. Season 1 filmed entirely in Vancouver, British Columbia, from June 20 through November 19, 2024. After the show proved a hit, NBC renewed it for a second season in May 2025, and production made a significant move from Vancouver to Brooklyn, New York. The main sets from Season 1 -- including the team's familiar plane, headquarters, and interrogation room -- were physically transported from Vancouver to Brooklyn soundstages. The move was strategic, aiming to tap into New York City's rich theater talent pool for new cast additions. Season 2 premiered on January 8, 2026, as a midseason entry, positioning it to benefit from NBC's high-profile promotional windows around the Super Bowl, Winter Olympics, and the new NBA season. The relocation to New York also gives the show access to the kind of authentic urban grit that complements its high-stakes fugitive hunting premise.
