About
'Tis So Sweet is a faith-based drama produced by Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin as the second film in their multi-picture partnership with Netflix. Directed by Tasha Smith (who has directed episodes of P-Valley, Swagger, and Power Book II: Ghost) from a screenplay by Randy Brown, the film stars Taraji P. Henson as Lenore Lindsey and Joey Bada$$ in a supporting role. The story is based on the true, viral story of a Chicago bakery owner who is stunned by a miraculous discovery that challenges her to reclaim lost time, heal old wounds, and find purpose in the unexpected. The real Lenore Lindsey's story went viral in November 2024, quickly attracting Perry and Franklin's attention for adaptation. Nine additional cast members joined the production beyond the two leads. Filming took place at Tyler Perry Studios in the Atlanta metro area from November 17 to December 16, 2025 -- a tight one-month shoot typical of Perry's efficient production style. Perry Studios, the 330-acre former Fort McPherson army base, is one of the largest production facilities in the country and has been the home base for Perry's prolific output. The film is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2026.
